This Heavy metal band had so much promise and was friends with the worlds top metal band- Judas Priest, but for some reason they were like a meteorite in the night sky. This is one of many videos I produced on them. joelsamuelpresents- tell your friends if you enjoy this type of programming? joelsamuelpresents
Saw them at Rockers on Indian School Road in June of 1985……can’t even tell you what happened in the back of my van….hey….will someone post a video of “Future Allies”….they were the kings of “Hammerheads”….
Hate to tell the guy with the shades this, but guess what dude? You DON’T have your own product. You sound like every OTHER hairband that was struggling for recognition back in the day.
I read the description to this video and after watching this video I know now why these guys never made it big…it’s because they SUCK!
I love this footage Joel – thank you so much! I hope to see Surgical Steel AT LEAST one more time! Crossing my fingers for one of the greatest bands on earth!
YEAH! Just caught a Tesla show in Phoenix, AZ in December ‘08–ICON opened up for them! They rocked!! Soo great to see them after many years!
anybody remember a band called ICON in the early 80’s had a guitar player named Dan Wexler I think??
surgical priest was a bunch of douch bags
my best friend punched jim keeler in the face in the 80’s we threw rocks at him at a show at the garden of gears, ahh, to be a youth again, funny stuff!!!!

My brother worked for Rob Halford and Jim Keilor when they had “Where It’s Hot.” It was a Phoenix area entertainment periodical. My brother worked in the sales dept. I remember pulling into my driveway after work one night and Keilor and my brother were in the drive way chatting. Freakin’ awsome guitarist. Get the band back together Jim.
It’s time for a reunion of all the great hard rock/metal/glam bands in the Phoenix/Tempe area of the 80’s! A dude that got in contact with me a few months ago,and I,talked about the time that our bands that we were in at the time,(his band ‘Plain Jayne’,my band ‘Ripp Off’),opening for Tuff at the Mason Jar in ‘89. Great, exciting times!!
I saw SS about a hundred times at Metro Center, clubs and Warehouse parties in the early 80’s. Always a blast
where is the info site at
We agree! It’s long over due. Ex-Rockers Waitresses; Loretta and Rita
How much of a twat does the singer Jeff Martin look from 3.20 to 3.35!!!!! What an idiot Jeff Martin was in the 80’s!
I miss the hot sluts from the 80s. Dman they were hotties.
I remember hearing ‘Rivethead’ on MM2 and thinking, wow, these guys are cool! Hearing/seeing this now makes me realize why they never got signed: second rate songs with a serious cheese factor. – Anybody got any St.Michael videos, Jeff’s other band w/ Greg Chaisson and Jim McMellen?
