A 2005 documentary directed by Sam Dunn with Scot McFadyen and Jessica Wise. The film follows 31-year-old Sam Dunn, a Canadian anthropologist, who has been a heavy metal fan since the age of 12. He sets out across the world to uncover the various opinions on heavy metal music, including its origins, culture, controversy, and reasons it is loved by so many people. Parts 1-10 are the film itself and parts 11-19 are the extras. www.metalhistory.com
i love the ending.. it makes me proud to be a metalhead.. especially a musician as well… i live in a rap / hip hop dominated environment and attend a rap / hip hop dominated school, and i feel really out of place.. but you know what? im proud of that feeling. That means to me that Metal really is widely underated and only the most proudest badasses listen to it. Metalheads stand out. They are unlike anything and everyone else, and it just truly gives me a great feeling. Long Live Heavy Metal
@ToaJoe i think as long as your a metalhead, your smart. regardless what genre…
@hillo890 oh damn. slipcock. ima credit u everytime i say that from now on
@hillo890 It’s because they’re one of the bands that have fallen victim to accusations of suicides and murder.
‘if it doesn’t give you that overwhelming surging power, and make your hair stand up, you might never get it. and you know what? that’s okay. because judging by the 40,000 metal heads around me, we’re doing just fine without you.’
like the ending.
@ToaJoe well, like kerry king said, religion is a crutch for the weak, i have no doubt he’s a pretty smart guy, but he’s a pretty smart CHRISTIAN guy.
@musicmasterliam He’s intellectually smart, I think the reason he converted to that disgusting brainwashing cult religion was because he needed an extra ’sober push’
@ToaJoe how’s dave mustaine smart?
he converted to christianity, for a thrash guitarist and singer that does sound very smart to me.
@DylanVanella Corey Taylor is not smart. If you want a smart metalhead, see Dave Mustaine
when i wear my metal shirts. l safe as well. it gives me the confidence i wouldnt normally have
man ive been looking everywhere for the quote Sam says at the end thank god i found it
BTW GREAT DOCUMENTARY SEEN IT TWICE
what is slipcock doing here?
well i myself am not big on metallica, i like some of there songs, but like everything else.
if it rocks your world and drives you ever forwards it’s all good.
master of puppets an excellent song to end a great documentary like this on in my opinion anyway
@ALICEFREAK13 hell yeah
that’s like when i was having a SHIT day, i went to see ALICE COOPER AND ROB ZOMBIE,
if i feel down theres nothing better to bring me up than some metal…i also like playing RATM or listening to it if i have the extra energy build-up…it really releases me…for example a couple of weeks ago i was on a metallica concert,first ever in my country,and the whole week was shitty but when sunday came…man,when i got to the concert and when they started playing i forgot all about the week,the rain or the mud
@xReinhartx agree with you.
@xReinhartx this and metallica documetarys and get thrashed
@Reencarned Easily the best documentary I have ever seen.
@DarthMalak1000 finally,a fucker that knows what hes talking about!!!
Why does this films didnt win any grammys or anything like that, if it is so awesome?better than any Titanic.
I listen to metal because most of lyrics say what I’ve wanted to say for a long time, the guitars free myself, AND, it will always be there.
AWESOME FILM!
Although i hate slipknot and specificly corey taylor and think hes a douchebag, he does seem like a smart douchebag.
